Even though I have Administrator rights on the Windows 2012R2 server where the File System is located (as one of the logical partitions – F: drive), I had to start ShredIt with “Run as an Administrator”. I spent the better part of the day downloading trial versions of various players from ZDnet in attempt to play a disk full of (apparently PC) VCD’s that I bought on eBay, and none would do the job until I found and tested yours; needless to say, I found myself pulling out the Visa card five minutes later. Wow! I was floored!

Hi, I bought iVCD for Mac OS X tonight. Two words. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. O.K. six. I cannot tell you how long nor how many programs ago my quest began. I really did not have much hope, but I figured I might as well give you a “demo” try. Wow! I was floored! No problems, it was so easy and quite self-explanatory. I have tried so many that ask for so many things that I do not understand, although I have come to be quite well-versed on the temperamental Mac and its preferences. I wish I could explain what it means to be able to have my niece and nephew on a DVD in a slideshow that we did last weekend in “Photo Booth” with special effects on Mac. …Thanks for my sister’s special gift. You know you only get something like that once with kids. DVD it is!!!

If you want to get rid of a file, you have to “shred” it

As you may know, when you delete a file, you are not deleting it for good. There are computer applications that can recover files even after you have deleted them and emptied the Trash bin. That is why, if you want to get rid of a file, you have to “shred” it. Shredding deletes a file and it re-writes the space where it was with junk data, so that not a trace of your file can be recovered. ShredIt X allows you to do this easily.[Read More]
