MacVCD X Specifications:

  • MPEG Player: MPEG1 – VCD, MP3, XVCD MPEG2 – SVCD*, XSVCD* MPEG4
  • Digital Video Player: AVI*, DivX*, XviD*, WMV*, Quicktime Movie, mov, (.mov), DV, DVC, DV Pal, Photo VCD, Karaoke VCD, Apple Video, Component video, Sorenson Video 2 & 3, Microsoft OLE & Video 1
  • Quicktime Movie (.mov) Player:
  • Plays most other video, animation, image and audio formats.

System Requirements:

To run MacVCD X you need:

  • Mac OS X® 10.1 or later
    • MacVCD X is Mac OS X® 10.10 Yosemite compatible
    • works on any OS X Mac – MacIntel or Power PC, G3, G4, G5
  • QuickTime® 5 or later (We recommend Quicktime 6 or later for improved MPEG playback).

To play SVCDs (Super VCD, MPEG2) or XSVCD you may need:

  • the Quicktime MPEG-2 Playback Component, available from Apple  or, you can use
